Karanja Lad is a small township city in the Vidarbh region of Maharashtra. Sindhis who migrated from Sindh have made the town a commercial center of the area. Since the 1958 when Jhulelal Mandir was constructed here Cheti Chand has become festival of city.

There are 250 sindhi families are living in Karanja and thus Sindhi population of Karanja is not more than 2,000 [two thousand]. Most of Sindhi homes are at Sindhi colony though a few bungalows of Sindhis can be seen in different parts of the city. If we go business wise Cloth, Grocery, Medicine and Footwear trading is dominated by the Sindhis. Yet another unique feature of Karanja Sindhi population is here you will find a good number of Sindhi Doctors.

There is no Sindhi Panchayat functional at Karanja though Past President Shri Bacharam Panjwani  is still considered as President by common Sindhis of city.
