When the Padma Awards for 1981 were announced finally the waiting of global Sindhi community gets its end as on the list of recipient’s names, name of Prof. Ram Panjwani was there. Prof. Ram Panjwani who has carried forward the Sindhi Folk Singing heritage of Bhagat Kanwar Ram and presented live Bhagat sessions to all most every city of India to popularise this Sindhi folk art. Besides being associated with Bombay (now- Mumbai) University Ram Panjwani has taken serious efforts for promotion and preservation of Sindhi language and literature. He also produces some Sindhi films.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
