Padma Shri Dr. Alka Kriplani
Introductory
Padma Shri Award recipient [2015] Dr. Alka Kriplani though is born in a Punjabi family as daughter of Daughter of Ram Saran Das and Shakuntala Devi Malhotra on 25 August 1955 at Raipur Chhattisgarh but being married with Dr. Ajay Kumar Kriplani, she become integral part of Sindhi community. The couple has two children Divya Kriplani and Isha Kriplani.

Since 2011 Dr Alka is working as President of Gynaecological Endocrine Society of India [GESI]. She is past president of Delhi based Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and also hold post of Vice President of Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecological Societies of India and the Delhi Gynaecological Endoscopists Society. Dr Alka Kriplani was also associated with governing council of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and editorial board of the Asian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a member.
In the world of medicines and gynaecologists, Dr. Alka is recognized as medical writer and academic, her most significant work is related with fields of Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynaecological Endoscopy. Besides being author of four books Dr. Kriplani have credit of delivering 770 guest lecturers all over India and abroad. She also contributed to various national and international journals with more than 380 scientific publications and 403 Abstract Publications. She also holds a unique achievement by contributing 53 Chapters in other books.
Dr Alka Kriplani was student of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur Chhattisgarh. After completing graduation in Medicine (MBBS) she got Master degree in gynaecology and obstetrics. She started her professional life as Professor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and promoted to post of head of the gynaecology and obstetrics department. She enjoys fellowship of many renowned institutions such as Indian College of Maternal and Child Health [FICMCH], Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists [FICOG], Academy of Medicine, Singapore [FAMS] and Federation of Immunological Societies of Asia-Oceania [FIMSA]. Dr Alka Kriplani is also honorary Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists [FRCOG] of London.

Dr. Alka Kriplani, elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences has been honoured with many awards, including highest medical award by government of India, Dr. B. C. Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
