Arjan Sikayal a renowned name from the world of modern Sindhi literature was born in the Sadooja village of Sahiti Tahsil of Nawab shah district of Sindhi and was among the sindhi youth involved with the freedom movement. freedom fighter and an Ayurveda practitioner by profession Dr Arjan Detaram Nathani is living at Andheri Mumbai. In the Sindhi literary world, he is identified as Romantic poet but he himself say he is a progressive poet. Though Arjan Sikayal was born in family of Ayurveda experts but literary environment at home has produced a kind attraction towards the literature. In an interview he himself disclosed that inspiration for writing poetry is gift from friend Harchomal, who at the age of 10-12 years created a couplet
“Chave Yar Harcho – Samjho Kin Charcho – Achi Hane Paricho – Mitha Yar Arjan”
meaning Harcho says don’t take it as joke and my dearest friend Arjan come leaving anger behind. This single couplet boosted him if Harchomal can write why he can’t write? Nehru Peace Award winner Arjan Sikayal has credit of more than 20 published books. In the Sindhi Literature he is known for the poetic expressions in very simple words though along with poetry he also holds a good command over prose.
Besides being an author, he was also associated with Sindhu Samachar, daily newspaper from Mumbai [Assistant Editor 1973-1978] and Nagar News, daily newspaper, Ulhasnagar [Editor in charge 1982-1992]. Arjan Sikayal also worked as member of Maharashtra Sindhi Sahitya Academy.
On 19 August 2012 Sindhi literary world under huge pains and sorrow as a doctor, a writer, a poet and a journalist Arjan Sikayal has left for the heavenly abode.

Awards & Recognitions
Arjan Sikayal is recipient of Prestigious Nehru Peace Award for his book “Lenin” and was felicitated by Central Hindi Directorate, Govt. of India for “Amar Shahid Indira Gandhi” both books are biography of these two legendary politicians. He is also honored by Akhil Bharat Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha for the contribution to Sindhi literature. In the year beside being felicitated with Life Time Achievement Award from NCSPL he also received Uttam Sahitya Award.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
