Ancient city Chanda which was named as Chandrapur in mid sixty’s is also called as the Black Gold City just because being located in the region where Coal mines and mines of Lime Stones are found in abundance and due to this a few cement factories are also constructed in and surrounding areas of the Chandrapur. Situated on the confluence of two rivers namely Irai and Zarpat Chandrapur have temples of Goddess Mahakali and Lord Shiva. Sindhi community is famous for Cheti Chand Celebration.
