Gulu Mirchandani a BE (Mechanical) pass out from the prestigious BITS Pilani is one of among the most successful industrialist & Sindhi businessmen in India.
Gulu Mirchandani is Founder Chairman of Onida Group [flagship company MIEC Electronics] renowned name in consumer electronics. He is co-founder & Chairman of some other industrial & business establishments such as Akasaka Electronics, Iwai Electronics and Gulita Securities.
He is also Director and Co-founder of Adino Telecom and Chairman of Fractal Analytics.
At Shoppers Stop Limited, VIP Industries Limited and KEC International Limited he is involved as the Board member.
His business and social success reflect from, he being the President [Two successive terms 1992 & 1994] of Consumer Electronics & TV Manufacturer Association (CETMA). He has also worked as Chairman of the Bombay chapter of the World Presidents’ Organisations (WPO).
On 9 December 2009 he was felicitated by Shri Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and corporate affairs with “Lifetime Achievement award” by CEAMA (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association) at a mega event held at Delhi.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
