About – Dr Indira Hinduja
Dr. Indira Hinduja is one of the leading Gynecologist and Obstetrician of the country. Born at Shikarpur Sindh Dr Indira is citizen of economic capital of country Mumbai. She was a baby of few months [Birth date 21 August 1946] when her family was forced to migrate to India because of partition. Hinduja family reached Mumbai and tried to resettle their life at Belgaum a city in Karnataka but return back to Mumbai in 1963. Schooling of Indira Hinduja is completed at Belguam though her most of education is in English Medium but still her primary education was started in a Marathi Medium School of Belgaum. If you ask her, she still narrates her young days enjoying the local train travel or the days to climb on the Shoe house at Hanging Gardens just to feel the mesmerizing beauty of Queen’s Necklace [Marine Drive].
On the educational fronts Dr. Indira Hinduja is M.D., Ph.D., D.G.O., D.F.P. She also has a vast teaching experience as she had worked at King Edwards Memorial Hospital (KEM Hospital) and Seth G.S. Medical Hospital and College for long 25 years teaching Undergraduates and postgraduate students. She also worked as an examiner for M.B.B.S., M.D.in the Maharashtra and Goa states besides being Guide for M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Applied Biology, at Mumbai University. She is Honorary Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Hinduja Hospital Mumbai.
She started working with KEM hospital after getting her Ph.D. For “Human in Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer” and in very short span of time she become famous as Gynecologist, obstetrician and infertility specialist. Dr. Indira Hinduja is pioneer of GIFT -Gamete intra fallopian transfer technique and had supervised birth of country’s first GIFT baby on 4 January 1988. Prior to that she was also there at KEM hospital on 06 August 1986 when first test tube baby was born.
For menopausal and premature ovarian failure patients Dr. Indira Hinduja is not less than divine help as she had developed oocyte donation technique for such patients. Country’s first baby with use of this technique was born on 24 January 1991.
Dr. Indira Hinduja doesn’t have only the healing hands but her hands are quite effective for literary creations off course related to medical studies and techniques. She is on the Editorial board of The National Medical Journal of India and wrote a few books some as of own and some with others. “Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Current Methods and Future Directions” is one of the famous books edited by her. Dr Indira Hinduja also participated in numerous Conferences and Seminars. There is long list of professional bodies including Bombay Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society to which Dr Indira Hinduja is associated.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
