In India Ulhasnagar is considered as the Sindhi capital but when it comes to Sindhi literature Bairagarh Bhopal is not lagging far behind & this was proved by one of finest & famous Sindhi poet Khiman U Mulani who become the 51st recipient of prestigious Sindhi Sahitya Akademi Award. He received this award in 2018 for his poetry collection Jia Mein Taandaa. In fact, this was one of the highest points of 58 years long literary journey of Khiman U Mulani which was started way back in 1960 during his school days when he presented his first ever poem Zardar written in Sindhi language.
Biography / About - Khiman Mulani
Born on 10th June 1944 at Moro Nawab shah [Sindh] Khiman was hardly able to walk when his family and many million Sindhi were forced to migrate India.
Schooling of Khiman U Mulani was started at Bairagarh near the state capital city Bhopal. Moderately educated Khiman joined the government service in PWD department of Madhya Pradesh from where he retired on 30th June 2004. During the days of government service besides his poetic creation’s Sindhi Poems & Short Stories he become associated with All India Radio & Doordarshan as Talker. He also worked as Editor for Rim-Jhim yearly sindhi literary magazine for five years along with being on editorial board of Sindhi Magazine Sindhu Mashaal published by Madhya Pradesh Sindhi Sahitya Akademi Bhopal.
If we look at literary creations of Khiman U Mulani we find that out of his Nine original books, three are children center, I presume that he might be compensating his childhood days which were lost due to partition of the country and hard life of yearly years of post-migration days. Khiman U Mulani’s one of the finest contributions to Sindhi literature is that he has translated and published in Hindi [three volumes] more than 2700 Saloks of great Sami Sahib (Sami Ja Salok)

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
