Born at Ujjain, the Kumbh Mela, Shipra river bank situated religious city of Madhya Pradesh as daughter of Dayawanti and Jethanand Puraswani on 04 May 1965, Vinita went on acquire Master’s Degree (M.A.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.). As at home atmosphere was filled with Sindhi traditions and customs so from early childhood, she found interest in Sindhi language, Literature and Cultural heritage of Sindhi community.
After getting married with Pimpri (Pune) based businessmen Shri Dilip Basantani and joining M U Commerce College Pimpri as Associate Professor (English) she got enough opportunities to go for childhood liking of more deep study of Sindhi language and cultural heritage. This is her hard work, deep study and passion that she has presented more than 50 research papers at various national and international seminars of Sindhi.
In the Sindhi Literary world Vinita is looked as the young smiling and talented face of Sindhi literature. She has credit of four published books also, including Sindhi Samanarthi Shabdkosh which is quite useful for Sindhi people, she authored this book as co-author with Prof. Lachhman Hardwani Besides being Member of Maharashtra Sindhi Sahitya Academy, Dr Vinita is also involved with activities related with the field of women empowerment. For Sindhi purpose she is associated few social organisations like Sindhi Sanskritic Sakhi Sangat, Sindhu Ratan Sakhi etc.
Dr Vinita is fine illustration of career oriented Sindhi women of recent times. Spending timing with professional assignments and giving equal importance to family she is enjoying married life with Dilip. The couple is blessed with two sons Varun and Safal.

Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
