Dewas is fusion of two Hindi words Dev means Deity and Vas meaning Abode, as the city has temple of deity Devi Tulja Bhawani, hence it is known as Dewas. Industrial township Dewas is the place where Indian Bank Notes are Printed. Dewas is hardly 35 Km away from Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh.
