Famous Sindhi Fiction Writer – Sahitya Academy Award – Trio of Sindhi Literature
Lal Pushp is one among popular names of literary personalities from the Sindhi Literature. He was Sahitya Academy Award winner famous for Sindhi fiction writing – Sindhi Short Stories & Sindhi Novel. He was also part of famous trio of Modern Sindhi Literature, the other two are Guno Samtani and Mohan Kalpana, all the three were renowned for bringing progressive thoughts, new style of writing short stories specially love stories or romantic Sindhi stories. Lal Pushp was considered as one of most powerful writers from the second generation of Sindhi writers appeared on sky of Sindhi literature after the division of country. When on 20 March 2009 news of his death came the first and common reaction of Sindhi literary world was today an era of Sindhi literature ended.
Biography / About - Lal Bhagwandas Rijhwani - Lal Pushp
He was born as Lal Bhagwandas Rijhwani at Larkana Sindh on 1 January 1935. After migrating to India his family stayed at Kalyan Camp for a shorter period and shifted to Mumbai. Lal Pushp went on to complete his education B.A. in English literature. Alike many others he also faced the troubles of migration at tender age and that reflects into his writing filled with emotions.
Lal Pushp was more famous for his short stories and many of these are also translated in other Indian languages and even in English. In most of his stories he has concentrated on analysing human emotions. This is also notable that Lal Pushp always prefer to stress on Philosophical insight.
Lal Pushp has credit of writing few novels and literary essays. Among the Sindhi novelist of his time, he was considered as the Sindhi novelist of progressive thoughts. This was his Sindhi Novel Hun je Atam Jo Maut for which Sahitya Akademi Award for Sindhi language was awarded to him for the year 1974.He was also active as journalist and have edited Sindhi magazine Priha Phuti for almost two decades besides being the publisher editor of bimonthly magazine Sindhi International. He died on 20 March 2009 at his Mumbai residence.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
