Girish Sadhwani

Girish Sadhwani born and brought up in Mumbai Maharashtra, India, is certainly looked as the future of Sindhi singing. He was born on 21 February 1985 at Mumbai as the son of Meera and Girdhar Sadhwani. Girish is born with not silver spoon in mouth but in the atmosphere of music, singing, religious values and Sufism. Father Shri Girdhardhar Sadhwani is known for having credit of 30 cassettes on Bhagwat Gita, hence naturally even before starting the formal school education Girsh has completed his learning of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. He also learned about the thin line difference Religion and Sufism from father and it has helped him a lot for sharpening his music sense and singing.

In very short span of time, during the school days of Girish, mother realised that untimely death of father has created a vacuum for learning talent and natural born music skill of Girish. He needs some special training and guidance. Fortunately, the search for Guru of Girish reached to destination of Dr. Pandit Askaran Sharmaji, a musician and philosopher. This was the luck and talent of Girish that Pandit agreed to take care of him.

Girish can be said fortunate that not only Pandit Ji but Shrimati Yogai Sharma – wife of Pandit Ji also started keeping an eye on learning of Girish. Many might wonder to know that Guru Maa wants to see Girish to becomes a singer for Classical music whereas Pandit Ji were aiming for making him a singer who goes comfortably with light music. This is sheer talent of Girish that he fulfilled hopes and aspiration of both.

While his formal and music education was going on Girish started to participate in various competition and presenting singing performances. During this period, he won many awards such as All India Inter-collegiate Ghazal competition, All India Inter-Collegiate Classical competition and was adjudged as best performer of Bal Utsav Hare Krishna Hare Ram of ISCKON Mumbai. He also appeared on Television in some of music related shows of Zee Network and Door Darshan.

Besides the singing Girsh also learned and have good control over playing some musical instruments like violin and table. He came with Sindhi Music albums namely Andhi Mein Jot Jagayin Wara Sindhi & Rano Cho Na Murke. Both albums are symbol of versatility of his talent and his ability of singing in various genres. The first album is collection of traditional Sindhi songs where second is a Remix.

Time has shown and proved that Girish has a voice to match with every kind of lyrics and music style but this also seen that his voice becomes much more effective with Sufi songs and Kalams. The most impressive part of his voice is his diction filled with true flavour of Sindhi language, which takes him miles and miles ahead of other singers.

Along with singing & stage shows Girish is also working as visiting Faculty at [1] Svis International School – Navi Mumbai [2] karma Creative Studio – Park Street Kolkata. Girsh is also involved with Music for some Hindi Sindhi Drama. He has been felicitated by Late Bhairon Singh Shekhawat [Vice President of India] for young musical talent and was recipient of three years Music Scholarship given by Sindhi Sangat.
