Introductory
When it comes to discuss multiskilled personalities of Sindhi Literature surely Goverdhan Sharma is found to be there as front runner. A Poet, basically lyricist, a multilingual writer, who also have talent of writing drama, editing books and even can be rated as highly successful press reporter. Goverdhan Sharma has started life as Hindi teacher at Adipur and retired as the Head of Hindi Department of Indian High School Dubai.
Goverdhan Namdev Sharma Ghayal- Biography
Born on 1 December 1937 at Mehad Sindh, the region presently part of Pakistan as the son of Nidhi Devi & Namdev Sharma. One can say that proper schooling of Goverdhan Sharma was started at Gandhidham, where his family was staying after coming to India, after the partition in 1947.
Life has given him very first opportunity of being the earning member of family when he was of just eighteen years of age. In the year 1955 he got chance of being associated with Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti Wardha. This association remained in continuation till 1970 and during this time span he worked as Hindi Teacher, Examiner and Paper Setter.
While doing the job he kept his educational studies on going and in the year 1974 has acquired Post Graduation in Sindhi from Pune University. Actually, he has shifted to Pune after 1970 for more working opportunities in the fiend of education and literature. He got involved with literary creations and his first ever Sindhi poem was published in popular Sindhi weekly Hindvasi in the year 1954. His first Poetry book was published in 1960.
At Pune after working for a shorter period with Tulsi Mahavidyalaya, Goverdhan Sharma has worked at B T Shahani Navin Hind High School & Jr College, Deccan College and Post Graduation Research Institution and St. Mira`s College for Girls in capacity of Sindhi Lecturer.
In the year 1983 he was offered job of Hindi teacher at Indian High School Dubai so he left India and came back in 2000 after retirement as being Head of Hindi Department of same institution. After returning back he has started Sindhi Adabi Sabha Pune in 2001 and till date working as founder President.

Besides writing Poem, Drama, Essays and Lyrics Goverdhan Sharma has also edited many books even jointly with others and is author of few text books. He also served Sindhi language as journalist. He is Pune residential press representative many Sindhi Newspapers including Hindvasi. He also participated in various literary seminars and Radio and Doordarshan Talk show related with Sindhi language and literature.

A national seminar on contribution of Goverdhan Sharma was organised by Sindhu Sahitya Kala Mandal, Nasik in 2002.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
