Biography /About - Dr Kamla Goklani Ajmer
Dr. Kamla Goklani [B.D. 16-06-1950] is a popular face among the Sindhi community of Ajmer and world of Sindhi literature. M.A. Ph.D. and P.G. Diploma in Journalism holder Dr. Kamla, is Ex. Deputy Director of Sindhu Shodh Peeth, MDS University, Ajmer. Her research paper “Sindh Mazi, hall ani Mustakbool” is included in the book “Sindhi Education in India”.
Dr Kamla has attended more than 150 National Seminars. Rajasthan Sindhi Academy has honored her for being only Sindhi women with Ph.D. in Sindhi, Subject of her thesis for Doctorate: Sindhi Shayaree Mein Kudrat Jo Chittr (Potrait of Nature in Sindhi Poetry).
Besides that, NCPSL, Delhi Sindhi Akademi and some other literary and social institutions has also felicitated her during various functions. He is recipient of Saami Samaan awarded by Rajasthan Sindhi Academy in 2003.
Number of books written by her is close to fifty including Audio CDs of 4 books prescribed in UPSC for I.A.S. course. She also worked as Editor of magazine Rachna and Rajasthan Sindhi Akademie’s Annual Journal Rihan. Kamla is also associated with All India Radio and Door Darshan as broadcaster.

In the 2003 Dr Kamla Goklani has bagged Sami Award, the most prestigious award of Rajasthan Sindhi Akademi. Government of Rajasthan felicitated her thrice 1989,1992 & 1999 with Best Writer of Rajasthan Award. She also has received Haru Sadarangani National Gold Medal in the year 1995.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
