Lekhraj Aziz was a multi-talented personality of Sindhi literature. He has equal authority and command in Poetry and Prose, specially when it comes to Sindhi Drama.. Better known for his Sindhi poems and published elven sindhi poetry collection Lekhraj Aziz has illustrated his mastery and command over Sindhi prose writing by contributing to Sindhi Literature in the form of writing Sindhi Drama also. Kumar Ajit Singh” and Mister Manju, two of Sindhi Drama written by him were among the most successful Sindhi drama.
Biography / About - Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani
Lekhraj Kishanchand Mirchandani who was more popular and better known with his pen name Aziz as Lekhraj Aziz was born in Hyderabad Sindh on 19 December 1897. On side of his Academic qualification, he has passed B.A. and was working as Lecturer of Sindhi at the time of partition of the country. Along with thousands of other Sindhi families his family was also force to migrate India.
In India Lekhraj get settled at Mumbai (Bombay in those days) and fortunately he got job f teaching Sindhi here also, hence at least on the economic fronts he need not to worry. Basically, Lekhraj was a poet and was also famous for his heart touching selection of words for poem, but besides contributing to Sindhi literature by poetry Lekhraj has wrote some prose also. Two of Sindhi Drama written by Lekhraj Aziz, “Kumar Ajit Singh” and “Mister Manju” were on the list of most Successful Sindhi Drama and people we liking to see again and again.
Literary life of Lekhraj Kishinchand Mirchandani is considered of about two decade and during this time as many as sixteen of his books were published. Our of the sixteen published books of Lekhraj Aziz eleven books were collection of his sindhi Poems.
This was the day 19 August 1971 which brought the news of sad demise of Sahitya Academy award winner Lekhraj Aziz famous & beloved personality of Sindhi literature. Sindhi literary world will remember Lekhraj Aziz as Sindhi poet of par excellence who has shown his expertise in writing of Sindhi Drama Also. In writing Sindhi Drama no one else has used Sindhi proverbs with such great effectiveness that Aziz has achieved.

As the almost a decade or more than that of the literary life of Lekhraj Aziz was the period when country went under the partition and Sindhi in India were focusing on bringing the life back to normally so there were quite a few occasions when Lekhraj Mirchandani was honored. His unparalleled contribution to Sindhi literature was recognised by Sindhi Sahitya Academy in 1966 and prestigious Academy award was awarded to him for his book “Surahi”.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
