Biography / About - Dr. Satish Rohra
Dr Satish Rohra has bagged the prestigious highest literary award of country “Sahitya Academy Award” for his book ” Kavita Khan Kavita Tain” in Sindhi Language in the year 2004. Born on 15 August 1929 at Dadu, Sindh Satish Rohra with academic qualification of M.A. [Hindi], Ph.D. is among the notable academicians of the country he has worked at a few famous educational institutions, including Banaras Hindu University and retired as professor of Applied Linguistic from Central institute of Hindi Agra.
Dr Satish Rohra is among the rare class of Sindhi literature personalities who have equal passion for literature and traveling. He had written more than 20 books and have visited countries like U.S.A, U.K, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, Japan, Thai Land, Philippines, Pakistan etc. as he is very strong believer of that Language, literature and culture are co related so at every place of visit he had put a great stress and need of use of Sindhi language in daily life so the Sindhi cultural heritage can be preserved. Beside the Sindhi Sahitya Academy, Akhil Bharti Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha and National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language have recognise his service for Sindhi and felicitated him.
Sindhi literary world become socked with news of said demise of Dr Satish Rohra, who breathed last on 24th February (night) 2021 at his residence at Adipur, Gandhidham Kutch. Sindhi literary world will miss him for his to the point criticism, realistic poetry expressions and work for Sindhi language as professor of Applied Linguistic and an administrator.
Literary Contribution

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
