Famous Sindhi Woman – Sindhi Novelist & Writer – Sahitya Academy Award 1993
Famous Sindhi Novel writer and Academy Award winner Tara Mirchandani once again proved the strength and skills of Sindhi women as in 1993 Sindhi Sahitya Academy honored her for her fiction “Hath Yogi “. She is perfect illustration for carrying out responsibilities of professional life and family life with equal importance and success by a Sindhi Woman. In the manner in which she has balanced between the professional life and domestic life, she has set an example for Sindhi women looking forward to modern life. Actually her life is source of inspiration for the Sindhi youth. Team TSW is dedicating following couplet in Sindhi, Hindi language to this great Sindhi fiction writer Tara Mirchandani.

Biography / About - - Tara Mirchandani
Born on 06 July 1930 Tara Mirchandani has settled at Pune after migrating to India and her first Novel “Komayal Kali ” was published even before he had said good bye to teen age. She went on write more than ten books which also includes a few short story collections.
This was the demand of Sindh University and processing of bringing awareness among the students some of her friends started Vidarthi a weekly and gave editorial responsibility to Tara. This was the beginning or her first step on literarily horizon. After partition and migration, as a student of Jai Hind college she got guidance of Prof. M.U. Malkani and started her literary journey with her first short story “Swarag Jo Sairu” (Heaven’s Tour) .
Though Tara has retired as government official but basically, since her marriage with Moti Mirchandani in 1950, she is a housewife with very high powers of understanding and down to earth polite nature. Her writings are mostly based on relation of husband and wife, conflicts of day-to-day life and understanding life style and temper of each other. If we look at 10 Novel and 5 Short story collection we are bound to conclude that she has portrayed life of Sindhi women looking forward to modern life style of professional job and house hold works in tandem. Every literary creation of Tara Mirchandani not only have colors of pains and unsatisfaction generated from the minute disputes of life but also shows the awareness towards the social problems and emotions of domestic responsibility.
In her Sahitya Akademi Award winner creation Sindhi Novel Hath Yogi she has depicted human emotions with perfect excellence. A girl child forced to beg was rescued by a young man with merciful heart who also takes responsibility of childhood care of rescued girl. The girl grow in years and finds love emotion at her heart for that fellow. The man gets confused as he was her guardian during her childhood. Beside working for Sindhi Sahitya Academy as the member of Advisory committee for five years she also worked as member of Maharashtra Sindhi Sahitya Academy for three years.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
