After a long series of auditions, she got chance to act in a television serial and her debut TV serial was Idhar Udhar shown on the DD National Channel of Door darshan.

In this television show her character was of a middle class who married to a person belongs to a business tycoon’s family and story of the serial was revolving around changes in her life due to this happening.
Anita kept on working in Hindi and South Indian films along with Television serials and looking at her career till date we can say that Television proved more suitable than films. Anita appeared in some of reality shows of TV like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 1, Dancing Queen and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. she also appeared on Television as the host of comedy-based show Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo but again she got popularity for play role of Shagun in the television serial Yeh Hai Mohabbatein started since 2013. People have also appreciated her role in Ekta Kapoors serial Naagin 3.

Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
