Prestigious literary award of India, 2021 Sahitya Akademi award for Sindhi language was awarded to renowned Sindhi poet Arjun Chawla for his poetry collection Nena Nindakhra. This proved to be the end of long extended waiting for Arjun Chawla, who at the tender age of 17-18 years has started journey of his literary life, in period when migrated Sindhi community was suffering from pains and struggling for resettlement in India. Arjun Chawla is such talented Sindhi poet that he has bagged many awards but till 2021 Sahitya Akademi Award was playing hide and seek game with him. BArjun Chawla – Biography
Arjun Chawla is born as the son of Kadambidevi and Gahimal Chawla on 10 February 1931 at Kashmo, a place in Jekokabad district of Sindh in undivided India. He has completed his school education before the country was divided into two nations. After migrating to India Arjun Chawla completed his Graduation from Aligad Muslim University and Post-graduation M.A. (English Literature) from Agra University. He has also acquired B.Ed. Degree.
Soon after completing his education Arjun Chawla got a job of Lecturer of English at K R Government Girls College Gwalior. Before getting retirement in June 1991 Arjun Chawla has worked as Principal of M.P. Edu. Dept. Higher Secondary School, District Educational Surve Officer and Principal of Teacher Training Institution Guna. Since 1992 to till date, he is living a peaceful life at Aligad.
During almost six-decade long journey, first Sindhi poetry book of Arjun Chawla was published in 1987. This book was not only praised by Sindhi literary world and liked by Sindhi poetry lovers but he has bagged an award of Central Hindi Directorate for this book.
This is illustration of impressive hold on Sindhi language and Sindhi poetry of Arjun Chawl, that when magazine Skylark India published special issue on Sindhi poetry, responsibility of Editor was assigned to Arjun Chawla.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
