He turned his family’s local, small real estate business into K Raheja Corporation, a truly and widely renowned real estate group, many years ago. Isn’t it a illustration of entrepreneurship? Chandru Raheja born in 1941, (On Internet some sights are displaying date 12 October 1940) as son of Lachmandas Raheja in Sindh & Alike millions and millions of Sindhi families Raheja family also shifted to India. Chandru Raheja along with four brother and other family members become settled at Mumbai. As for as his education is concerned, he has double Masters and double LLB degrees, first from Mumbai University and second from Harvard Business School.
Till the 1996 family business was running as one unit but now they decided that time has come for a split in family business. Three new groups K Raheja Constructions [Chairman Gopal Raheja], K Raheja Universal [Chairman Suresh Raheja] and K Raheja Corporation [Chairman Chandru Raheja] came in existence. Among these Chandru Raheja emerged as an Indian business magnate.
This was his visionary decision of Chandru Raheja to expand retail business through Shoppers Stop started in 1991 by increasing branches close to one hundred. Since 2004 he started building Malls like In Orbit. Chandru Raheja has also introduced new brand Mindspace – green buildings & IT Parks. He also started Charlet Hotels which owns a string of hotels such as J. W. Marriott in Mumbai and Westin in Hyderabad. From 2003 to 2008 Chandru has served as an Independent Director of the II & fs Invest smart Ltd.

Chandru got married with Jyoti and have two sons Ravi and Neel Raheja both are helping father as group presidents of K Raheja Corporation. Chandru Raheja a man being Forbes billionaire, known for simple living and awareness towards the social responsibilities, which he fulfilled trough institutions like S. L. Raheja Hospital and Diabetic Research Centre, L.S. Raheja Technical School and L.S. Raheja School of Arts and Architecture looked by K Raheja Corp Group.
In the year 2010 Shoppers Stops was awarded with Star Retailers Award. Many forums and guilds have showered various awards to Chandru Raheja. In 2013 Hotel Investment Forum, India has recognized Chandru Raheja’s contribution by felicitating him with Hall of Fame Award.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
