Biography - Career: Dalip Tahil
Born on 30 October 1952 at Agra as the son of Ghansham Jethanand Tahilramani, Dilip Tahilramani has become famous as the Dalip Tahil in world of performing art of Bollywood films and Television. Acting towards which he has developed infatuation at early age of just 10 years when he was student of renowned Sherwood College, Nainital. He begged the prestigious “Kendall Cup” award of Best Actor for two successive years for his role in the play “My three Angels” as “Joseh” and as “Macbeth” in Shakespeare’s one of most popular play of same name. He has created record winning the “Kendall Cup” for the third time in 1969.
After schooling at Sherwood College Dilip went to Aligarh Muslim University but as within one year of this his family has shifted to Mumbai so he completed his degree as the student of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. By this he has joined Theatres group and was fortunate as people like Alyque & Pearl Padamsee were there to train him. Bollywood acting career was started in 1974 when famous Shyam Benegal offered him a role in film “Ankush”. He was chosen to play role of assistant villain in the film “Shan” an epic production of famous producer Ramesh Sippy. He also played a short role in Sir Richard Attenborough’s “Gandhi”.
1988 released “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak” has made him in house face of thousands of film lover families of India. In the same year he appeared in “Deceivers” and “The Perfect Murder” films by Merchant – Ivory. Dalip Tahil who had played over 100 films since 1980’s, He got chance to play “Jawaharlal Nehru” in 2013 in the film “Bhag Milkha Bhag”. Even after busy schedules at films he kept on his stage acting. In A.R Rahman theatre Musical Bombay Dreams he played role of “Madan Kumar” for over 500 shows.
Dalip Tahil was also among the early star of Television serials in India, he acted in Sanjay Khan’s mega budget “The Sword of Tipu Sultan “and “Buniyaad” a serial dedicated to youth by Ramesh Sippy. He also played role of the role of Dan Ferreira in the iconic BBC1 soap opera EastEnders.
After few years once again he is back to Television serials. He is playing role of King Dashrath in the serial “Siya Ke Ram” to be broadcasted on Indian Television Screens [Star Plus] in 2015.
In an interview to “The Hindu” about his role and serial he says Siya ke Ram is the right show at the right time for the audience. “The everyday issues that we witness against women in the present day will throw light on the respect women enjoyed at the time of Ramayan. Sita wasn’t a weak woman; she was the one to follow her husband out of choice. It was her decision to follow her husband. Sita was a princess who was no less than a prince. Her upbringing was on par with that of any royal prince. When epics have examples of such brave and talented woman, what makes us think that women today are weak and are not on par with men?”

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
