It is always said Mumbai is the land of realization of dreams but this is also a proven fact that you need to have additional strength to meet with adverse situations and get rooted in Mumbai especially if you are intended to make a career in Film industry Bollywood. Pahlaj Nihalani was fortunate that he didn’t need to face the adverse situations at initial stage of his career as by the time he grows up to enter the glamorous world of silver screen called Hindi films his elder brother Govind Nihalani [famous Cinematographer Director] was a familiar face of Bollywood Hindi Film fraternity.

Pahlaj Nihalani [born on 10 January 1950] is ten year younger than his elder brother started his film career with 1982 released film Haathkadi for which he was producer, Star cast of the film was inclusive of stars like Sanjeev Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy. Film has done a good business as for as box office collection was concerned but still Pahlaj took almost three years for his next film Aandhi – Toofan, released in 1985.

During the long-illustrated career of more than three decades Pahlaj Nihalani has credit of introducing many new talented artists of the industry including Super star Govind [Debut Film “Ilzaam “released in 1986] and popular actor Chunky Pandey [Debut Film “Aag Hi Aag” released in 1987] later on this actor duo also appear in film “Aankhen” released in 1993 and proved one of all-time blockbuster of career of Pahlaj Nihalani as the producer. This film was also nominated for prestigious Film fare Award 1994 in the Best Film category, but Tahir Hussain’s “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke” proved to be award winning film.

2001 released film “Uljhan” was the debut film for the Director Pahlaj Nihalani, who was also the producer of the film. Pahlaj kept his trend of bringing new faces on Silver screen is growing with his age his latest released film “Khushboo” have debutantes Avantika and Rishi Rehan. Besides working as the producer & Director Pahalaj has also acted [Special appearance] in 2008 released film “Halla Bol”.

Pahlaj Nihalani has also worked as the President of the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Producers from 1980 to 2009. From 19 January 2015 to 11 August 2017, he had worked as chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He was in the news during the last [2014] Parliament election for his YouTube video “Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi”.

Pahlaj Nihalani is happily married and has children Chirag Nihalani and Vishal Nihalani. This is lesser-known fact that he and Govind Nihalani is the maternal Uncle to Sonakshi Sinha as her mother Poonam Chandiramani [name before wedding with Shatrughan Sinha] is cousin of Nihalani’s.
