Saloni Aswani, Model actress from Mumbai is renowned name in South Indian Film Industry. Saloni was born at Ulhasnagar on 1 June 1977; her childhood name was Vandana Aswani. When she was about 5 years her father working as an assistant commissioner in Narcotics Department got CGS quarters at Wadala so schooling of Saloni was done at Mumbai. She went on become Graduate of Psychology from Shrimati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University (SNDT).

From the childhood Saloni was the view that acting is the best way of expressing self, she was enjoying mimicking Sridevi. Just like a traditionally Sindhi family was not supporting her interest in acting and wanted her to go for a career in some other field. Saloni was fortunate that she was supported by her mother very strongly; even she helped Saloni to create her portfolio without knowledge of her father. Saloni also went to enrol herself as a student Ashok Kumar’s Academy of Dramatic Arts, besides joining a theatre group Kala Sansad to learn practical lessons of acting.
Before being introduced as film actress Saloni appeared in many Television commercials including Vaseline, Lifebuoy, Parachute Oil, Moove, Chic Shampoo, Three Roses tea and Meera soaps. Though by this time she started earning handsomely from his Modelling career but her thirst of acting was still unsatisfied.
She was introduced to Hindi Film Industry, Bollywood by Director Sawankumar Tank in the year 2003 with screen name Saloni Aswani. Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya was her first film with star cast of Kapil Jhaveri, Amrish Puri, Ashutosh Rana, Mukesh Rishi and Prem Chopra. The film went without much commercial success at box office. In the 2005 she started working in south Indian film industry with her first Telugu film Dhana 51 followed by Oka Oorillo. Unfortunately for her both of these films proved a failure experience at box office. In 2006 Chukkallo Chandrudu and Kokila two Telugu films in which she was in lead roll were released along with Rehguzar and Saawan… The Love Season, two Hindi films. Saawan… The Love Season was a film of Sawant Kumar and even though Salman Khan was the part of star cast of film it fails to be recognized as the hit film.
This was 2009 released Kannada film “Dubai Babu” for which her performance was appreciated. In the same year, she also appeared in “Magadheera” a dream project and a big -budget fantasy adventure by S. S. Rajamouli. During this film her talent was noticed by Rajamouli who had offered her Maryada Ramanna, with Sunil. This film went on to receive not just positive response from the critics but also proved hit at box office.
She won SIIMA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her 2012 released Telugu film “Bodygaurd” and was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress (Telugu) for the performance in same film. Kannada films Jaggi directed by Sultan Raja, Shivam directed by Srinivasa Raju are upcoming films of Saloni Aswani.

Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
