To surprise of entire nation during the Oath ceremony of Members of 17th Lok Sabha, MP from Indore has taken Oath in his mother tongue Sindhi, a language one among 22 languages recognized by Indian constitution was never before used at such high level so naturally Shankar Lalwani become the first choice for Sindhi politician. Born on 16 Oct 1961 at Indore Shankar Lalwani was active with BJP since early days of his youth. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Shankar Lalwani is among the successful businessmen of the city. He has a previous history of his love and liking for Sindhi language and Sindhiyat as he always gets actively involved with arrangements of Cheti Chand celebration at Indore. Shankar Lalwani, from Indore, business capital of Madhya Pradesh, is among the rare class of Sindhi Politician and holds record of victory margin in 2019 Parliament elections from Indore Lok Sabha Seat.
Equally popular among the business world and Sindhi community of Indore Shankar Lalwani is among the most famous Sindhi of the world. Born at Indore M.P. on 16 October 1961 as the son of Jamnadas and Gouridevi Lalwani, Shankar Lalwani got schooling at Indore. Quite different from educational trends of Sindhi community he went to Veer Mata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai and acquires B.Tech. [Bachelor of Technology] degree, but as far choice of field of earning livelihood he opts to go with Sindhi tradition. Even being technically educated Shankar Lalwani preferred business field instead of going for a job.
Shankar Lalwani is well versed with problems being faced by Sindhi community just because of improper representation in Indian politics. So besides being active with organizing Cheti Chand [Gudi Padava Festival] celebration and helping Sindhi Hindu Immigrants for getting citizenship always focused on unity of Sindhi community and political involvement.
This was 1994 when at age of just 33 years he becomes Corporator, Municipal Corporation of Indore for the first time. In 1999 he was offered opportunity to work as Chairman, PWD, Municipal Corporation of Indore. This five-year tenure proved very successful for Shankar Lalwani as during this period he was key person in the process of soling Traffic Problem by building bridges, flyovers and multiple foot over bridges for Indore city. He also took initiative for plantation and employment drives in city. This has added to quality beautification of the city. His next assignment was working as Chairperson, Indore Development Authority [2013-2018].
This was his dedication towards the ideology of BJP, capacity of working on new ideas and striving really hard for achieving target which opens gets of national politics for him. When seating MP Sumitra Mahajan, eight-time winner, expressed her unwillingness for 2019 Lok Sabha elections Shankar Lalwani, the first timer, got chance as the candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party, though in the initial stage name of seasoned politician and BJP Gen. Secretary Kailash Vijayavargiya was in air.
After being elected for 17th Lok Sabha with more than 10 Lakh votes polled and victory margin of over 5 Lakh votes Shankar Lalwani brought a moment of pride for entire Sindhi community as he took oath of Member of Parliament in mother tongue Sindhi.
Shankar Lalwani - Personal Life
Shankar Lalwani got married with Anita on 10 Mar 1985, the couple is blessed with one son and happily living at Indore M.P. Having keen interest in soulful music Shankar Lalwani has special interest for Infrastructure development, art and culture.
Being a Yoga disciple he also has interest in sports like Kabaddi & swimming. Travel is yet another interest area as he has also visited countries like Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Currently Shankar Lalwani is topmost famous Sindhi in India.

Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
