Shonali Nagrani represents presence of Sindhi youth in the glamour world of Films and Television. Born in a sindhi family from Delhi, on 20 December 1981, Shonali become talk of Indian homes with her presence in the Television reality shows “Khatron Ke Khiladi” and Bigg Boss Season 5”.
Shonali was bound to learn lessons of discipline as her father is an Army officer. After completing education at Good Shephered English School, Bengdubi, Bagdogra and Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi she preferred to join the fashion and film industry.
Shonali – Bollywood Hindi Films
Shonali came into lime light when in the year 2003 She won the pageant of former Miss India International though she failed to repeat the success at Miss International 2003 where she was forced to be satisfied with being the first runner-up.
like the most other girls Shonali also tried to be a popular face on silver screen of Hindi films and become fashion Icon for millions and million Indian girls like some other successful Sindhi Actress Babita and Sadhna etc. but unfortunately her Film career didn’t click as per her plans. She was supposed to make her debut with the 2005 film Zeher with Emraan Hashmi however she appeared in Shahrukh Khan starrer “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” [released in 2008] “Pyar Ka Funda”, “Dil Bole Hadippa” and some other Hindi films in the year 2009. All these her efforts fail to establish as a successful actress in the film industry.
Shonali – Television Shows
During all these years Shonali was also active as the model and was among the Top 50 Desirable Women in 2011 and 2012 in the initiative taken by Times of India. During the early childhood Shonali was considered and beautiful but still shy and self-cantered girl who doesn’t have much interest for fashion. Actually, this urge for being in lime light and satisfying the thrust of artistic expression is the influence of her cousin, Ishan Nagrani, a well reputed folk dancer.
Unlike the Hindi Film Career, Somali’s television career flourish well, on the television she hosted many serials like “Laughter Challenge”, “Popcorn”, “Aalam-E-Ishq”, “Filmy Cocktail”, “Damdar Hits” and many more. Telecasted almost all the leading television channels. Shonali become well known face in the Indian home with glamorous appearing and pretty good analysis of game of cricket in Champion Trophy, IPL and T20 World Cup during the years 2006-2010. This was the most satisfactory assignment of her career as Anchor person. Her participation in the Akshaykumar hosted reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi” was appreciated by her million’s fans.
She had participating into “Bigg Boss Season 5” yet another very popular show of Indian television industry as a candidate and till this time she was considered as one among the probable winner of the show but fail to win the show. In 2013 Shonali decided to marry with her friend Shiraz Bhattacharya from Kerala.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
