Horizon of Sindhi music never experienced inadequacy of talent actually we have many talented singers in same era. Some singers were so talented that even the never stopping flow of time appears to be stagnant just because songs sung by these are liked equally by many Sindhi generations. One such soulful soft silky voice was Kamla Keswani. She was considered as the God gift to Sindhi community and custodian of melody. It has past almost one and half decade for departure of Kamala Keswani from this physical world but even today during the all kind of Sindhi gatherings associated with music and singing younger Sindhi performers are asked to present a song sung by Kamala.
Kamla Keswani Biography
Kamala Keswani was born before the independence f India on 27 August 1934 at Karachi, Sindh though her father Gobindram Madnani was native Sakhar. Her father was doing job of Telephone operator hence it is bit difficult to get correct answer for reason which made Kamla fond of music and singing. One thing is sure she started singing since her school days.
Partition of the country has interrupted Kamala`s education at Sakhar at tender age of 13 years. She was forced to migrate India with family in 1947. Her family came to Jodhpur Rajasthan, they tried to get settled even at Bikaner and finally family shifted to Jaipur.
At Jaipur Kamala not only completed her school education but also went on to become graduate (B.A.) from Jaipur University. Having presented a few singing performance Kamala found All India Radio as most suitable platform for her talent. She started singing Sindhi and Rajisthani marriage songs on All India Radio. Afterwards she also become famous for singing Sindhi & Sufi Kalams. Sindhi Kalam Dil Dije Dilwaran Khe, Kahido Qdur Pavndo Bekadirin Yaran Khe, is still one of the topmost popular Sindhi songs.
While giving singing and musical programs on All India Radio Kamla has started to present stage shows and musical programs arranged on occasion of Sindhi marriage and other Sindhi gatherings. She even visited abroad for same purpose. Among Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs of Sindhi community) sung by Kamala Keswani, Hik Son Jo Rupiyo become most popular. Kamala Keswani also appeared in various television programs related with singers and music.
As for as Playback singing for Sindhi films is concerned Music stalwart C Arjun has given her first chance. Hojmalo, Shal Dhiaru N Jaman, Ladali are the few names of Sindhi films associated with singing of Kamala Keswani. Magical singer of Sindhi music Industry Kamala Keswani breathed lost on 09 May 2009 at Jaipur.
Famous and popular Sindhi folk singer Bhagwanti Navani is eventually immortal as she even after losing the physical existence still alive at hearts of thousands and thousands of Sindhi music lovers. Often called as Sindhi Koyel Bhagwanti was born on 01 Feb 1940 at Nasarpur. Undisputed queen of Singing Sindhi Lada (marriage ritual songs) Bhagwanti will always be remembered for singing Sukhamani Sahib (Guru Bani) in Sindhi. She also acted in Sindhi film Sindhua Je Kinare. On 22 Oct 1986 she left for heavenly abode.
